The 2008 Tre Lag Stevne will be held at the
Bigwood Event Center in Fergus Falls, Minnesota from
Wednesday, August 6
through Saturday, August 9, 2008. The Bigwood Event Center adjoins
the Best Western Hotel. The "Tre Lag Stevne"
is a joint meeting of three lags:
Trønderlag, Gudbrandsdal and Nord Hedmark og Hedemarken lags. The
Trønderlag Centennial
Celebration immediately follows the Tre Lag Stevne, at the same
site. There is a separate registration for the Centennial.
The stevne will include
genealogy labs and research assistance with all the resources of our lags:
books, films, maps, family histories. We will also have seminars on
cultural and historical Norwegian-American topics, a tour of Norwegian
influences in the Fergus Falls area,
the musical play "The Emigrants" with a cast coming directly from Norway,
pork chop dinner from the Underwood Lion's Club, traditional banquet . . . along with
many other enjoyable activities!
The stevne is open to the
public, with a registration fee. Walk-in registrations will be accepted if space is available.
Advance registrations are required for tours, banquet and luncheon.
Participants need to make hotel reservations separately.
