Stevne 2005:
"Fulfilling the Dream"
August 3 - 6th in Fargo, ND
The 2005 Tre Lag Stevne will be held at the
Ramada Plaza Suites and Conference Center in Fargo, North Dakota Aug. 3-6,
2005. The "Tre Lag Stevne"
is a joint meeting of three lags:
Trønderlag, Gudbrandsdal and Nord Hedmark og Hedemarken lags.
The stevne will include
genealogy labs and research assistance with all the resources of our lags:
books, films, maps, family histories. We will also have seminars on
cultural and historical Norwegian-American topics. We will have a tour
to settlement areas of Norwegian emigrants, a visit to the Hjemkomst
Center, Norwegian food and music. There will be a "pitchfork fondue", Norwegian craft
demonstrations and vendors. Those visiting Norway in the future might want
to take advantage of the opportunity to learn a little of the Norwegian
language in a Saturday seminar. And, of course, there will be the
opportunity to visit with others who share an interest in Norwegian
heritage.
The stevne will be open to the
public although advance registration is requested. Tours and meals must be
reserved in advance.
The tentative program is now
available. The schedule
and registration forms will be sent to all Trønderlag of America members
in the June newsletter. If you are not a lag member, but would like to receive
information about the stevne, please contact lag president,

Volunteer Needs - Volunteers are needed for several stevne
activities: stevne registration, genealogy registration, genealogy
room helpers, computer assistant in genealogy room, a laptop
computer for use in genealogy room, banquet/meals, other). If you are willing to assist, please contact
