2007-2008 Officers, Board of
Directors
& Committees

| Because of the adoption of a new Constitution and Bylaws
at the lag business meeting on Aug. 3, 2006, there have been changes made to
how the officers are elected and board of directors are appointed.
The next election will take place in June 2008. All members whose dues
are current will receive a ballot by mail which must be returned before
July 1.
Current Executive
officers include: President, Vice President, Past President,
Secretary and Treasurer. Membership functions will be handled by the
Treasurer. The other board positions are appointed by the president at
the start of his/her term, with the approval of the executive officers.
These include: genealogist, historian, newsletter editor, public
relations, and two general board members.
To serve on the board, a lag member must be a member in "good standing." The board formally meets at least three times a year: at the stevne, in
the fall, and again in the spring. Meetings are often held in St. Paul,
Minnesota or the area of the next stevne. |

Board responsibilities include attending board
meetings, attending and participating in stevne activities, participating in stevne planning and lag
projects. Some project work is done between meetings.
Discussions are often conducted via email. And as of Spring 2008, the
board has begun to meet via conference calls to eliminate travel expenses.
Each year, several board and/or lag members also participate with Gudbrandsdal and Nord Hedmark lags in the formal planning meetings of the
Tre Lag Stevne Steering Committee (TLSSC) for the annual stevne.
The officers and board members listed below have been appointed by
continuing president Linda Schwartz for 2007-2008.
